What is a subdivision plat?
A tract of land in Texas can be described two different ways: by metes & bounds description or by Lot and Block. When dividing land in Texas, it may be necessary to prepare a subdivision plat and have it reviewed and recorded by local and county offices. Texas Local Government Code Title 7 sets forth some subdivision requirements on a state wide level. These may vary depending upon local government laws.

A subdivision of land must be created and monumented under the supervision of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. Our staff has worked on many single family and commercial tract subdivisions across Bexar County, Comal County, Caldwell County, Hays County and Guadalupe County. We have worked together with design engineers to help facilitate the platting process.
