What is a Topographic Design Survey?
This type of survey locates existing improvements on a tract of land, and will depict the changes in elevation on a tract of land. Sometimes design or city requirements include tagging and locating existing trees, what we call a “Tree Survey”. Tree surveys are not always required for a design survey, but should be considered when scoping a project. The City of San Antonio Tree survey requirements are detailed in the link below.

We use the latest GNSS technologies to capture and reference topographic survey data to the appropriate state plane coordinate system and vertical datum. Utilizing GNSS on projects allows our data to be seamlessly converted from grid to surface. Summit Geomatics has performed many design surveys across Texas and has worked closely with municipalities and private design engineers to accurately map and model tracts of land of all sizes.
Summit Geomatics utilizes software such as: Microstation GEOPAK files, Civil 3d, Carlson Survey and ArcMap to provide tailormade deliverables to each client.
